The city of Aswan is the gateway to southern Egypt and is
located on the eastern bank of the Nile River and was known as the Sono during
ancient times. It means the market as it was a commercial center for commercial
convoys coming from the Nuba countries and also known as the Golden Country
because it was like a great treasure for the Nuba kings, where they settled for
thousands of years, which is similar to link between Egypt and Sudan. The city was a strongest fortress during the times of
ancient Egypt on the southern border of Egypt and was the temple of the god and
contains many archaeological sites.
